Avengers RP Lost Souls Brought by Forgotten Memories - ABANDONED

Maybe in a past life he wasn't the type that was hellbent on vengeance. Maybe in a past life, he could have forgotten the wrongs that were done to him and moved on with his life. It was a shock to see private information S.H.I.E.L.D had all on display for even civilians to see. It was the most trended topic on Twitter and the most discussed on any News channel before the fight on Sovokia happened.

What the fucking hell had happened there? Robots after robots flooding the sky and a city being threatened to be turned into a meteor. J.J would tell him that it wasn't good for him to dwell on things like that. But it was illogical...and something told him that he was missing something. Something...something in that fight with Captain America who had once been his mission and that fight he watched on the news, listened to on the radio, was amiss.

He knew something.

But his memory was like a finicky cat and it would only prowl away soon after he got close enough to touch it. Which was why he was here on stake out, looking at the newest Hydra hideout. They were getting better at hiding, but he knew their patterns better.

J.J sat down next to him. He didn't like bringing her into these missions. She couldn't watch his back, she didn't /really/ have the stamina to fight, and she was the weakest link. However, she could charm people into thinking that they were friends, could get whatever they need from them so long as she said the right words at exactly the right time. Her memory was also perfect, and if they couldn't download the information, he trusted to have it memorized.

He wanted to know more. He needed more. He wanted this place gone as well.

"Ready?" He looked up at her. Steel eyes looking into expressive ones. He thought about telling her to stay behind.

"You're safe with me." He said gruffly. "You know that right?"

Her expression went from surprised to neutral in a flat second. "Just as you're safe with me." He knew that. "Let's go."

"Okay so the plan is that once we get through the front door we split. Natasha, myself, and Clint will go up towards the control room. Once we get inside, we'll download the information. It's supposed to be a quick get in-get out situation. Everyone else will have to take out as many as you can, but sneaky about it. We don't want to set off any alarms and we certainly don't want to be found. Subdue if you must but if you have to kill...kill them first. Find anything out of the ordinary during your search, you contact us. Let us know what's happening." Steve said to the group that he was assembling. Thor wasn't there since he was off in Asgard for right now, doing more search on the Infinity Stones that had surfaced. "Agent Knight is on standby and will be watching us through the radars. If things get hairy, then she's probably going to be pulling out the big guns...and we don't want that."

The group was fairly new. Some of them needed a lot more work as a team, but so far he could trust them even more than he could with the old group. "Are you sure you can be apart of this, Quicksilver?" He asked, looking at the blond-white man who was sitting next to his twin sister. He had gotten shot and had been in recovery. He was getting better, and could most likely pull this off, but Steve still had to ask. Had to make sure his team was in top-notch shape.

"I'm good," Quicksilver gave Captain America a thumbs-up, "I'll let you know if anything goes wrong, I promise."

"Be careful guys, good luck," Kerica's voice popped into the conversation now Steve had finished his plan, and then her side went dead silent again.

"Let us be on our vay, den," Scarlet Witch motioned to the building they were going to be infiltrating.

"C'mon, Cap, I think the twins got it covered," Natasha jumped up and started sneaking her way over.

He thought this was going to be a simple stealth mission. Steve had his shield out and at the ready when he watched the Scarlet Witch subdue more than half of the people, Quicksilver running loops, knocking them out unconscious. However, there were the smart Hydra agents that knew how to keep out of range and start shooting from the upper floor. Natasha and Clint had the better aim and were able to kill them with single shots while Steve covered. The staircase on the other hand was starting to flood with more people. Steve took his shield and threw it at the line, watching them get knocked back like dominos. "Come on, start climbing up!" He told them as he headed towards the nearest stairway, jumping over the bodies and knocking them slightly so that he could get a pathway. Natasha covered for a bit before making a beeline as well alongside Clint.

Wanda and Pietro were going to have to handle themselves on the bottom floor, which wouldn't be too bad. So long as the got the people on the second floor cleared.

Just as the man in blue had went in, there were gunshots and screaming. The building looked as if it was on electrical fire. The windows lit up like lighting every once in a while. Bucky sighed so this way was no longer an option. He looked over at J.J who frowned and they looked towards the other direction of the camp.

They had chosen this way because who ever watched the backdoor to their own building? It should start becoming more of a practice, really. But now that the way had been breached by Agents, the front should be more accessible. Bucky gestured for them to move forward, and they did, keeping distance and making sure to keep out of sight of the jet. They circled around the building and watched.

The guards up in front were starting to pour themselves in. There were two tall watchtowers that had someone looking out. Bucky unhooked his rifle from his back and set it against his shoulder, taking aim. Once he shot, he knew that the other watcher was going to do it too. He didn't have to tell J.J to take cover, she was down on her front, breathing deep and keeping out of sight.

He was just about to shoot when he saw two people who were flying come towards the two tall watch towers and quite literally pushed the guards off and dismantled them. The people started pouring out through the front, trying to either escape or trying to shoot them down. Bucky picked off the guards that were still on the ground trying to fire at them. J.J stared as the two of them that were in the air had lowered themselves to the ground, and out of sight in the walls.

"Looks like this is going to be inaccessable too." Bucky snapped his jaw, clenching it together before nodding. He had to rethink this. If he sent J.J into the back, there were more Agents in there than she would be able to handle. Yet if she went through the front, the flying Agents would get her. If he went through the back, he could probably take out the Agents no problem. The Flying ones were going to be easy shots if he sniped them correctly.

Damn it. "Go through the back. They should be on second floor and that's the closest to the control room." He told her and she nodded. "I'll go through the front and meet you there. Pick off any that comes your way."

Without another word, she headed off towards the back. A twig snapped under the weight of her foot and she tripped. He winced. Clumsy woman. But now she was no longer apart of his mission. The only thing he could do was hope that she wasn't stupid enough to get caught, or if she did get caught that she could get away. It was going to be a race to get to the Control Room now.

After a few more minutes, Quicksilver saw the little woman trying to make her way through the back where the others were fighting. She didn't look like she had any weapons. In fact, it seemed like she was doing her best to stay out of and away from the action. Flitting over to her, he put his hands on his hips, "What are ya doin' here, lil' lady?"

Back up at the watch tower, Ironman saw a figure he vaguely recognized tearing through the front...but something was up, "Um,  we got a situation here...Cap, looks like your friend the Winter Soldier is on the scene. Only...uh...he's beating up Hydra. Should I ask Vision to grab your girlfriend?"

"I was not aware Miss Knight was Captain America's chosen?" Vision tilted his head at Tony curiously.

Steve rolled his eyes as Tony's quip went through the com. "Not my girlfriend." He said shortly as he placed his fingers against the earpiece. He could hear Tony mutter something about, "Not yet at least" as Natasha skillfully barged through the door and they entered the room. He signaled for Clint to stay out the doors and take out anyone that tried to get near. Anyone that managed to pass Clint, Steve would take over. Natasha was the one that had the USB and the one that knew what information needed to be processed.

Bucky was attacking Hydra, but why? What are you doing, Buck? He thought to himself as he ran through options in his head. "What direction is he going?" He demanded. "Is he coming towards the control room or is he staying down ground?"

"Before that, Cap." Clint's voice entered the comm. "I got my sights on Quick and he's holding onto a woman. She's weaponless, so I'm thinking she's a civilian. Weird, she's not a prisoner I don't think. Damn she's actually a small target." Not that she wasn't too small to hit, but it looked hysterical that Quicksilver could tower over her like nothing and was having difficulty. She was moving like a goddamn worm, wrenching her wrists away only to be caught again, it looked like she was more or less struggling to get away than she was actually fighting. What was fun was that no matter the hold, she always managed to find a way to break free, but before she could even get a step out, he'd grab her again. "This is kind of amusing to watch."

J.J hadn't really liked being grabbed at the hips and the moment she tried to escape, it just went down hill from there. His curiosity was strong, his caution only went down by a tad and that was most likely because she wasn't trying to attack him, just trying to escape but she knew that all she was doing was prompting his suspicions. His humor and his amusement didn't fade though. She could try to talk to him, but with a sister that knew manipulation, she doubted she'd get very far. She fed off his amusement and humor, batting away her own fear and her own worry about not getting the intel. If Captain America got it first...well...it was better than Hydra having it really. But it was still going to count as a loss and they already got so far. "You're fast." Wow, really? That was the first thing she opened with? "But you gotta let me go now."

The hell? "Don't hit her, Hawk." Steve warned, "Kerica we have a situation. We have the Winter Solider coming from the front end of the building and we have an unarmed civilian in our midst. So far he's beating Hydra, but the civilian needs to be escorted out and safely. Why is she even here?"

"You are miss obvious, aren't ya?" Quicksilver snickered. He didn't want to hurt her, but she might as well be covered in petrol or something equally as slippery. "Just why should I let ya go, hmm? Are you after information, as well?"

"Vision already got me and he is going to assist me with Winter," Kerica answered, grunting as she did a running jump from Vision's arms once she was close enough to the ground. Dodging bullets and weaving through the area much like Natasha would, she skidded in front of Winter Soldier just as he cleared the hall. "Why are you here?"

Bucky's eyes narrowed. He didn't want to hurt her. He knew that she was doing her job and that she was apart of Captain America's team. However, if this was how it was going to go down, then that's how it was going to happen. "Move out of my way." He said, bringing up the gun to point at her. "You're not what I'm after. You're not apart of the mission."

She relaxed into his hold and she placed her hands against his, though she couldn't reach very well due to the hold. Either way, it was flesh against flesh and she could feel the warmth of his skin against hers. She closed her eyes and breathed. She focused on his emotions, letting them flow rather than feel. "I'm not a threat." She said after a moment, soothingly. Suspicion was the first thing she needed to dispell. His amusement and humor, well...she could feed off of that really. She needed something light...she hid her fear well, but it wasn't good enough. "I'm not here to harm anyone, not you...not your sister...not the archer. I don't want anyone to hurt me either." She took another breath and continued talking. "I won't say you can trust me, but I will say you need to give me a little faith here. There's a man that I'm with who needs answers and this was the only way to get them."

"If you are fighting Hydra then you are an alley to me," Kerica said slowly, not bringing the others into this in fear he'd just ignore her, "I could help you." She didn't want to get shot, so she kept her hands up. She could do martial arts, but she was not genetically engineered like Black Widow.

Instead of loosening his grip, Quicksilver tightened his arms around her torso, his nose brushing her black hair, his breath now brushing her ear as he spoke, "Zen tell me, vhy struggle? Vhy not azg us for 'elp?" His voice was a low rumble, the why's turning into almost growls.

J.J's body shivered as she felt his breath tickle against her ear. His accent was strange, she couldn't pick the language that was his mother tongue. It was hard to understand, and it took a few moments of translation to figure it out. His hold was tight but....it wasn't hurting her in any fashion. She still held onto his hands, adjusting where she needed to hold. Now that suspicion was a little less, she had to work on caution. "Ya, because that'll go down so well." Her accent was slipping out, and she laughed nervously. "I could get away with it, but he's a stubborn man. Ya'll think I was in the crazy house and well...y'all would've thrown him into a prison cell."

Bucky also lowered his gun, but being careful. He didn't know of this was a trap or not. "Where's the control room?" He asked, keeping his gun in his hand. Like fuck he was going to put it away. She had a lot of guts to say that. "Hydra's thinning out. The two flying monkeys out there are probably picking off the ones that are escaping." Just as he said that, there was a loud sound.

Wanda came on to the communicator to update Steve on what was happening. "I need help. I'm pinned." She said as one of the Hydra agents had twisted her around and another had a gun towards her chest. She tried to kick the gun upwards, only to have to shoot narrowly at the ceiling. Well, next time she'd try to kick higher, but that still left her hands tied.

Quicksilver had heard a lot of accents since joining the team, and hers was interesting, "Now, don' judge us before ya know us," he chuckled, enjoying how her hands felt on his more than he should, "Why would we lock him up? It sounds like he is fighting the same people we are."

"I am on my way," Vision called through Com and flew away to find Scarlet.

"Cap, go help Kerica, I am almost done here," Natasha told Steve and watched him tear out of there like a bat out of hell.

Clint moved out of the way and watched as Steve skipped the stairs by using the banister as his short cut and flew over it, landing on both feet and taking off towards wherever. Vision was heading up and then disappeared around the corner, so that could only mean that Scarlet was somewhere of there. "Lover boy's heading your direction Keri-kitty."

"Seriously?" Steve snapped over the com, gaining a smattering of laughter, most likely from Stark as he continued to run. Yet the moment that he got there, he realized that there was a standstill. Kerica knew she could get out of this if she wanted, but Bucky had a gun in his hand and even though it was lowered, it was still a threat.

Bucky's eyes went from Kerica to Steve's. "I remember you."

Steve's breath was caught in his throat. "Yeah? What do you remember, Buck?"

His eyebrows furrowed. "How do you know that name? You were going to let me kill you on the bridge."

"That's a long story." Steve hated saying that. He wanted to tell him everything. "What are you doing here?"

"To find you. To know more about what you know. If that wasn't possible, then this was second best."

He were breaking into Hydra...going through risks and near deaths, just to get his memory back? "You have horrible timing."

Bucky nodded his head, but there was a furrowed brow. He was supposed to say something to that. It was on the tip of his tongue but the words didn't want to come. Maybe it was from thinking too hard about this. "Where's my companion?"

J.J shook her head. "Right now he is." She said softly. "But there was a time, before you and your sister became apart of the team, where he was an enemy to S.H.I.E.L.D. It was the reason why everything collapsed the way it did. He ranted to me about how stupid the man who was supposed to be his mission was." While she spoke, she concentrated on their friendship. How she trusted him, how she felt safe and secure with him by her side. She hoped that while she may say these things, and up the caution and suspicion, Quicksilver will understand.

Scarlet didn't think she'd feel so much relief to see that Vision was rounding the corner. Once free, she'd be able to help him.

"She's not hurt. One of our own is holding on to her, but at your request we can let her go." There was a 'what are you thinking' from somebody, but she continued to say, "If you aren't our enemy, we aren't yours," Kerica told him firmly, walking closer to Steve.

"Ah, zat would make sense," he hummed, holding her just to hold her by this point. It was funny, she was so focused on getting him to let her go, she hadn't realized his tight hold wasn't a constricted one, but more...protective. He felt more like she needed to be protected than restrained.

Vision used the beam from his jewel to disable the enemies around her and once she was free, he reached out and took her arm, "Are you well? I should get you to someone. Who do you wish to see? Your brother?"

Steve watched as so many conflicting emotions went passed his face. Confusion, worry, doubt, suspicion, back to confusion. He hadn't been expecting any of this. No, he had, but he wasn't expecting it from someone who didn't know what was going on. "Come on, Buck." Steve said softly. "I'm with you 'till the end of the line, remember? This mission is almost done. Whatever you need or looking for, we can talk about in the Avenger's Facility."

Bucky nodded. "Not with out-"

"I wouldn't leave behind a fellow comrade." Steve said firmly. "Even if I have no idea why she's with you to begin with."

A hint of a smile. "You're too trusting."

"I believe they call that a character flaw."

"Your character flaw was never knowing when to stay down." Bucky's lips twitched. "Though if you could let her go, I'm sure she'd appreciate it."

Steve nodded curtly and turned to the com. "Widow, status report on the mission. Quicksilver, you can stop scaring the civilian (Bucky snorted) and let her go, she's safe. Is everyone else okay?"

"Yeah Quick's really scaring the civilian." Clint retorted, his voice cracking through the com. "She's completely petrified by you, absolutely shaking by the way you're holding onto her like a harmless teddy bear. She does know how to struggle and wiggle though, did she impersonate a worm or something? Is that a superpower that I don't know about?"

Steve wanted to groan as he heard Tony quip back. "You're mistaking a worm for a monkey, featherbrain."

"....I'm pretty sure I said she was trying to wiggle free, not use Quick as a jungle gym." There was a pause. "Unless she didn't think about that. She probably could, she's short enough."

"Monkey's struggle." Tony shrugged though no one could see it through the com. "Though is she shorter than Keri? I don't think anyone's shorter than Keri."

"Guys! Focus." Steve snapped.

J.J sighed, it wasn't working. It really wasn't working. He should be loosening his grip, he should be letting her go. Probably because his sister was good at mental manipulation and believed the emotion manipulation to be the same. "Okay...new plan." She had to think of one...somehow. "What can I do to convince you to let me go? I could hurt you, but I'd rather we don't go that route. He told me not to."

Wanda shook her head from side to side, a gentle smile forming. "No. I'm fine." She assured him. "Pietro is worrying about his mission. I should not disturb him." She paused, enjoying the protective hold he had on her arm. "Thank you." Her words were warm and sincere. She turned to the com when Steve had asked for a status report. "I'm fine and uninjured." She repeated, her eyes never leaving Vision. "Vision got me out of the trap. Are you okay too?" Her eyes that were once warm turned concerned as she thought about his well being. "Are you uninjured?"

Kerica blushed at being called short. She was only five feet tall, five foot one or two with the thick heeled boots she wore, but she shook her head to resist snapping at someone, "You guys are hopeless," she said instead.

"Information's done," Widow replied to Steve, "No injuries acquired since you left, I think we took out everybody in the facility if I'm honest." She walked out of the control room, patted Clint's shoulder as he was putting away his bow and arrow, massaging his arm from holding that position so long.

"Hmm, I wasn't about to let you go just because," Pietro chuckled. Looking up he saw the other two coming towards him and he realized he'd been told to release her via com. Reluctantly, he moved back away from her, and looked down curiously. She really was tiny, like Kerica...and she was really pretty, too. The midnight black hair was stark against her pale porcelain skin, short and framing her whole face and covering her forehead. Her eyes were so green, like summer leaves, "What do ya call yourself?" he asked.

Natasha snickered and buzzed the com, "Quicksilver's perfectly fine, Cap. We're coming to you with the pipsqueak."

Vision watched as Wanda visibly relaxed hearing her brother was alright, "Then let me take you to the Captain and Miss Knight." He scooped her up and started flying back the way he had come. Once there, he deposited her back on her feet and hovered nearby, watching the Winter Soldier intently, "Are you really going to go with us willingly to talk?"

The moment she was let go, she kind of wish that he hadn't. She stumbled forward enough to make it look as if she had been injured. Her legs were shaking underneath her weight, as if she had been running for a long period of time and her heart was racing. She was starting to feel the effects of a headache about to turn migraine coming on and she...didn't know what to do. She felt excited, hyper...like she wanted to run around the building like a little kid. At the same time she just wanted a blanket and curl up. "You can call me J.J for right now." She answered, her voice pitched in excitement. Oh god. She saw the redhead and the archer move away from the door, so she could assume that the mission was complete. "You have a lot of energy. What do you do with all of this? I never felt like this before, unless it was something dangerous or crazy like trying to climb a building or running away from a gun." She bounced a little from heel to the balls of her feet and back again, trying to rock out at least /some/ energy.

Bucky looked at the man who was floating a few feet off of the ground. He could hear an engine behind him so he knew that Ironman had also decided to join the party. He took a breath in and out and he nodded. "Yes." He said firmly. He didn't know this man, but he could guess that he was a new member of the Avengers. "I'm really going willingly."

Steve nodded his head. "We'll wait for the other four to come over here and then we can go back to the jet and get back to the facility. Thankfully this mission had been an easy one, we don't have to worry about the injured."

Bucky nodded his head, but didn't say anything. His companion was going to be all other animal entirely, depending on how she was when he saw her again.

Pietro's eyes sparked with amusement, "Are ya a Controller?" he asked, grinning brightly, "I am really fast. I'm not called Quicksilver for nothing. Would ya like me to dash ya back to your companion at the front?"

Kerica looked up at Steve, "Don't you kind of feel like it was too easy, though?"

"Not quite a controller, but..." J.J grinned. "If you don't mind me hitching a ride, sure." She was kind of thankful, otherwise she was pretty sure she'd run, and then trip, and fall square on her face which wouldn't be good at all.

It was too easy. It was too easy and Steve was too hopeful. Bucky was an honest person, a little fierce around the edges, but a good person. He didn't want to think that he was going to betray them. Yet he knew that it could happen. It was too good to be true.

"Solider!!!"

A silver and blue after-effect had been their greeting way before the shout. A girl was sitting in Pietro's arms and when she was put down. She looked like a teenager...her hair was short and her bangs framed her...and she had really green eyes. That was the first thing Steve noticed about her...besides her height which happened to be 2 inches taller than Kerica...which was surprising and a little funny.

Tony raised an eyebrow, though no one could see it through his helmet as he came in closer to the group. "So that's the monkey we've been talking about?" He asked as he settled towards the back, but keeping out of the way in case the Solider and the Companion were going to make a break for it.

It was an odd thing, Steve had to admit this. It was odd that Bucky would allow someone like her in this situation. This was getting weirder and weirder by the moment. Now that he was actually seeing her in person, it felt...weird. Like something was off. Bucky didn't allow people that hindered him to be with him. But, he also felt like the girl didn't hinder him at all. There was a method to their madness, and Steve didn't know what it was. He hated to admit it, hated to think it, but it only made this situation worse. Not better.

Wanda focused her energy, trying to see what was going on with these two. Hoping to give Kerica some peace of thought. Bucky's mind was stable, focused...his mission was to meet Captain America and to get the answers that he sought and he had a /lot/ of questions. She only saw a flash of what happened to him to get his memory wiped.

She tried to focus on the girl who was next to her brother, scared for him. He handled her just fine, but...she still was a sister and worried about him. She had a right to, since she couldn't read her. Not a trace of her memory, not a whisper of a thought..nothing. She was like a blank slate. No...maybe it was because her brother was close and she was subconsciously focusing on him.

"You're shaking." Bucky stated as J.J walked towards him, her footsteps unsteady but confident. When she got towards him, he watched her stumble a little and he quickly caught her using his left arm instead of his right. She positioned herself to lean against him, using him for support.

Wanda again tried to read her mind, but came up blank. She was at a loss. "I can't read her."

"You...what?" Kerica's own green eyes widened and she stared at the newcomer.

"I think she is a Controller. It was how she said I had a lot of energy, and how she's vibrating," Quicksilver explained, because it wasn't shaking, not really. She wasn't nervous, or scared, and it wasn't even excitement.

Kerica racked her brain and she walked over to Bucky and the black haired woman. There were so many people in the room with their emotions running wild, but now she was closer to her, she felt how...confused, and overcharged she was. "You're an Empath, but not just a natural one. It's a power of sorts for you, like Scarlet can control minds," she nodded to the woman in a red jacket, "That's why Quicky keeps saying Controller, that's what he's used to."

"You know that /how/?" Pietro arched a brow at her, lips quirking in amusement at the nickname, hands on his hips as he shifted.

"I'm am naturally attuned to the environment around me. Aura's and the like, I also do a bunch of research and practice," Kerica shrugged, "I have Empathy as well, but I can't harness and use it because it's not a power. It's in everybody, actually, the natural affinity to be attuned to other's emotions. For some it's just more...amplified."

"Well, she's not lying.You're probably an environmental empath."" J.J said, highly amused as she watched the woman approach her. It was kind of fun to see that she wasn't the shortest one anymore and that she had some height to give. "Vibrating though..." Her green eyes flicked towards Pietro. "I'll start calling it that when I get overstimulated."

Bucky groaned. "No. Don't."

"Guys." Clint and Natasha had finally made it to the group, their faces grim. Both of them were on high alert and were also filled with energy just like Pietro had been. It was like a shot of adrenaline. "We got a situation Cap."

"What is it?" Steve asked, looking at them.

"Don't we always have a situation?" Tony retorted back.

"There's a bomb. I heard the ticking, but couldn't find it's source. We have to move right now," Natasha breathed heavily since they'd been running.

Vision was close to Scarlet and he immediately scooped her back into his arms, "Stark, call the Jet."

"Captain, I can get Kerica out," Quicksilver bent down so Kerica could jump onto his back, and he looked at Bucky, "Ya got J.J., then? I could still take her, get her to safety, as well."

Tony didn't even need Vision to tell him that as he reported the Jet. "Should be landed by the time we get out."

"I got her." Bucky agreed as J.J easily jumped onto his back, mimicking Kerica's style. Steve had to bite back a snort, thinking back to the times that Bucky had to do that for him when he had a horrid asthma attack or when he was beaten down into the pavement.

"Start running." He ordered and no one hesitated.

Quicksilver naturally was out first before anyone could blink, and farther out so that the explosion wouldn't touch him nor Kerica. Tony and Vision were up neck to neck. Wanda had wrapped her arms around his neck for balance and to be a little close so that she didn't feel like she was falling. It was nothing like Pietro's speed, thank god.

Clint, Natasha, Bucky, and Steve were the ones that had a problem. Steve and Bucky were fast, but they weren't superhuman fast like Quicksilver and they had to keep a watch out for Natasha and Clint, J.J was also on Bucky's back, which made both things easier and harder.

The blast sounded loudly, roaring through the hallways like a train and breaking windows. The flames setting everything ablaze. They were thrown forwards from the force of the bomb and they kept themselves as covered as they could from the flying debris that it sent. They stayed for a moment longer, waiting to see if that was all they had to worry about. Another blast occurred on the other end of the building. There was a sound of gunshots in the air, which meant that the weaponry that the Hydra hideout had, had been destroyed completely, adding onto the flames. A loud crack sounded and some of the building collapsed in on itself, sending more sparks into the air and smoke rising in the air.

"Captain!" Kerica called, forgetting entirely to even activate her com so the shout was useless. She didn't like saying his name on a mission, even if everyone knew his name. She was paranoid, never wanted it to be her fault everyone knew someone really was. On the jet when they could talk freely, she would.

Their ride in question hovered nearby and she suddenly found herself deposited inside on her feet, no longer on Quicksilver's back and she wobbled, hating when he threw her off balance like that. Vision and Wanda entered next, Ironman lighting down and taking off his mask, hurrying to the cockpit.

Natasha was next, dumped in a seat before the silver blur was gone again. Clint obviously was next, placed in the chair next to her. Nat brushed her hair from her face as she watched Kerica lean close to the opening of the Jet, "He'll be fine, he's a tough guy."

"I know that..." Kerica muttered, and Natasha chuckled softly, understanding that knowing didn't make one stop worrying.

Steve managed to get up onto his knees when he saw Pietro quickly grab Natasha and headed back. He breathed in sharp and coughed, the smoke and the debris getting to him. He turned to look over at the two who had been by his side. J.J had been thrown off of Bucky's back and had landed in a very awkward, and painful position. He wouldn't be surprised to hear about injuries, or see them when he got closer.

He looked over at Bucky and gently prodded him. "Hey." He shook him a little harder. The reaction he got from that was fast and dangerous. Bucky had flipped out his knife from his pocket and aimed it at Steve's throat. The Captain put his hands up in the air, trying to look as nonthreatening as he could. "You're okay, pal."

Bucky kept his knife on him for a moment longer before putting it away, just in time for Quicksliver to grab Clint and run off. He wasn't paying attention. He didn't feel any weight on his back and he looked behind him, worried when he saw that J.J wasn't there.

"She's over there." Steve pointed over at where J.J was sprawled. Bucky's eyes widened, but soon were schooled into a different kind of expression. "We'll tell Quicksilver to take her back next." He assured the worried solider. "Can you stand?" He asked as he got onto his feet, a little wobbly but otherwise steady.

Bucky nodded as he stood up, a little unsteady but okay. "Hydra didn't want you to find something more."

"Doesn't look like it." Steve agreed as he watched a silver blur come closer to them. "Pietro." He quickly intercepted the man. "Take J.J. Bucky and I can walk the rest of the way. I don't think you'll be able to carry us. But be careful, she's probably injured. She's knocked out at least. Let Kerica know we're on our way and okay for the most part." He was definitely going to have some bruises for the night. He was pretty sure he was cut up in some places from the glass but he couldn't figure out where. Bucky also looked a little worse for wear as well.

"Okay, Cap," Quicksilver nodded and flitted over to J.J., slowly rolling her onto her back and he slid his arms carefully under her body, holding her closely. Disappearing, he got to the Jet, "Captain America and Winter Soldier are a bit cut up, but otherwise alright and they're walking over. Could someone do a scan on J.J. and see how badly she's injured? She got thrown off Soldier's back when the explosion hit." He /knew/ he should've taken her, but he'd trusted Bucky would be fine from all he'd heard of the guy. He cursed under his breath a little as he found a spot to sit, supporting the tiny woman in his arms.

"Here, I got it," Natasha stood up and grabbed the first aid kit Tony had on the jet, taking out a device to scan J.J's body. Flipping a couple switches, a blue and white light swept over her and brought the full body scan up on the small screen, "Ouch. Definitely a concussion, bruised in a few places...she might have a sprained wrist and there's a cut on her forehead right...here," she reached out and moved her hair."

Pietro looked for something to put on the cut when he was handed a handkerchief by Wanda and he smiled at his sister, taking it and nodding his head. Gently he dabbed at the cut when he heard footsteps, heavy ones of the Winter Soldier's boots and the Captain's lighter, more precise gate.

"Well you certainly /look/ like you got caught in an explosion," Kerica shook her head as the back door to the Jet closed. She reached out and gripped his arm to steady herself as they took off, lips thinning and she took a deep breath through her nose. She hated flying. Didn't help she had motion-sickness. Once stable in the air, she let him go and opened her eyes she hadn't realized she'd closed. Clearing her throat, she stated looking him over but there wasn't even any major damage to his suit, just cuts on his arms and hands from where he protected his head. His shield must've taken most of the force. Besides all of that his face was dirty, and she reached up on her tip-toes to reach his face, scrubbing at a smudge on his chin with her thumb.

In a way she was a little jealous, and her face was scrunched up a bit in irritation. Quicksilver was over there, using his sister's handkerchief to take care of a real injury, but with Steve, all these scrapes were more like when you got a papercut. He didn't even really notice. Huffing, she bounced back down on her heels, then turned away, going to sit down next to Clint.

Vision observed all of this quietly, finding he felt tenderness and thought it was...sweet, how Pietro was taking care of their newcomer. Then, he saw how Kerica was acting...her concern turning to irritation and finally when she was no longer facing Steve - disappointment. Was she...upset she couldn't take care of Steve like Quick was taking care of J.J.? Steve simply looked utterly confused at her quick change of attitude.

Steve was a bit at a loss at Kerica's attitude towards him all of the sudden. He knew that he worried her, but there was something more that was going on. He'd talk to her in private later, and see if there was something that he could do to sort it. He could hear Tony snickering in the cockpit, so he knew it had to be something obvious.

But that wasn't the focus right now. His attention turned towards Bucky who looked as if he was staring off to space. He had taken a seat across from Pietro and J.J...and he just had to wonder again. Wonder how these two met. He wondered about what made Bucky want to betray Hydra. Could it really be that his memory was returning little by little, or was there something more and Kerica had every right to be suspicious? "Bucky." He faltered a little on the name, unsure if he should continue to call him that, or if the Solider had a different name he preferred. "We need to talk. About this..."
